Create product feeds
Product feeds contain all of your product details and must be submitted to online sales platforms such as Google Shopping and Facebook in order to convey all information about your store's product listing.
ShopBase provides a tool that allows you to create and edit product feeds in a few simple steps. This saves time, especially if you need to create multiple feeds for different products. In this article, we'll show you how to create product feeds on the ShopBase admin page.
Go to ShopBase admin, choose Products > Product feeds. Click Add product feed.
Select the sales channel where you want to submit your product data.
Google: You can create only 1 product feed for Google with an unlimited number of variants. It will be an advanced product feed using content API, so no URL will be provided for this product feed. Instead, your product data will be automatically synced to the Google Merchant Center account connected to your ShopBase store.
Klaviyo: You can create only 1 product feed for Klaviyo with an unlimited number of variants. It will be a basic product feed using files and feed URLs will be provided. Due to Klaviyo regulations, if your feed contains more than 25,000 variants or is greater than 100MB, ShopBase will generate more than one link for you.
TikTok: You can create up to 10 product feeds for TikTok with a limited number of 50,000 variants or 50MB per feed. It will be a basic product feed using files and feed URLs will be provided.
Others: You can create up to 20 product feeds for other sales channels with a limited number of 50,000 variants or 100MB per feed. It will be a basic product feed using files and feed URLs will be provided.
In Product feed details section, enter your Feed name.
In All products or just some of them?, choose the products you want to add to your product feed. You can choose All products or Products from selected collections.
In All variations or just some of them?, choose:
Export all variations of a product: All variations of selected products will be synced.
You can exclude some products with SKU or option value that you don’t want to sync by clicking Exclude the variations matching and filling in the conditions.
Export only first variation of a product: Only the first variation in each selected product will be synced.
For example: If the product has three options: style (with values: t-shirt, hoodie, sweatshirt), color (with values: black, white), and size (with values: S, M), the combination t-shirt/black/S will be synced.
Export only the first variation of each value in the first option of a product: Only the first variation of each value in the first option will be synced.
For example: If the product has 3 options: style (with values: t-shirt, hoodie, sweatshirt); color (with values: black, white) & size (with values: S, M), the combination t-shirt/black/S; hoodie/black/S; sweatshirt/black/S will be synced.
Export only variations of a product matching desired Product SKU or option value: You can use contain, start with, end with, equal to to filter products with SKU or option value you want to sync.
In Variant title, choose Do not add variant title at the end of the title or Add all options like color, size, etc. behind the title (example: t-shirt red S)
In Product title preference, select Default product title or SEO product title to use the product title or SEO page title that was set up in your store admin. To know how to set up your product title, please refer to this article.
In Product description preference, select Default product description or SEO product description to use product description or SEO meta description that was set up in your store admin. To know how to set up your product description, please refer to this article.
In Google product category, choose the corresponding product category on Google for your products. Please refer to this article for more information on how to choose a suitable Google product category for your product feed.
The following 5 steps (from 10 to 14) are only applicable for some sales channels (including Google, TikTok, and Others):
In Submit products as custom products, choose Yes (if the product is personalized or you are the only Advertiser running Shopping Ads on such product) or No. When choosing Yes, ShopBase will not submit any product identifier for these custom products (such as Brand Name and Barcode/GTIN).
Enter your brand name in Default Brand Name.
The default brand name will be your product Vendor. If your product does not have information about vendor, the data entered in this Default Brand Name section will be synced to GMC.
If Default Brand Name section is left blank and product identifier (barcode or mpn from SKU) is submitted, your store name will be synced to GMC.
In Default Gender, choose the gender for consumers that you are targeting. This field is required for all apparel items that are focused on people in Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the United States.
In Default Age Group, select the ages for consumers that you are targeting, This field is required for all apparel items that are focused on people in Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the United States.
In case products you create in your feed are in the Apparel & Accessories category, Google Merchant Center requires color and size information for your products. With ShopBase, products without Color/Size details can be automatically added when you create a product feed by setting the Default Color and Default Size.
Click Save.
After creating, your product feeds will be automatically updated at the time specified in the feed settings, and the update process might take a few hours.
Your feeds will NOT be created if: Your store is frozen or closed; or the payment for the next subscription cycle is not made successfully; or a public domain is not connected to your store.
