Connect Braintree to your store
Besides other payment gateways, you can activate Braintree to allow credit card payments during checkout.
Before connecting, ensure you have a Braintree account, know your API credentials. Follow the instructions in this article to connect Braintree to your store.
A. Set up Braintree Business Account and Sandbox Account
B. Get the Merchant ID, Public key & Private key
C. Activate Braintree as your payment method
D. Deactivate your Braintree account
Braintree can be configured on test mode or live mode on your store.
In case you want to use it as a LIVE gateway (for real purchases), go to this link to create an account.
If you only want to TEST the gateway, you can create a Test account (Sandbox account)
You will need the Merchant ID, Public Key, and Private Key from your Braintree account for the following steps. Visit Braintree. If you already have a Braintree account, click on Log In. If you don't have an account, click on Sign Up to create one.
Click on the Log in button to access your account in LIVE mode.
Or click on the Log in next to "Looking for Sandbox" to access your account in TEST mode.
Enter your credentials to Log In. You can also login with your PayPal account or SSO.
Click on gear icon ⚙️.
From the dropdown menu, select API.
Click on View to view the API keys. If you want to generate new keys, click on Generate New API Key.
Here is where you can find your Braintree Public Key, Private Key and Merchant ID. Copy all of the keys.
From your ShopBase admin site, go to Settings > Payment providers.
In Third-party provider section, click Add account.
In the Third-party payment providers page, choose Braintree.
Enter your merchant info from step B above and then select Add account.
Turn on Test mode then use the credentials from Test account if you just want to test the store.
To keep your account safe, ShopBase will not send any information related to your store, including your store name, store domain, product name, etc. to payment gateways to help prevent your account from being restricted.
After connecting your Braintree account to the store, you can deactivate it anytime by 2 ways and still be able to re-activate it later.
In the Payment providers dashboard > Toggle the active Braintree account to deactivate.
Or in the Braintree management dashboard, click Deactivate.
