In the new Boost Upsell updates, custom option values and live preview images of personalized products will be prefilled and displayed on Upsell offers based on the personalized product that the customers added to their carts. This will improve the effectiveness of upselling personalized products, and increase store's conversion rate. In this article, we will go over each update and show you how they work on the store.

A. Prefill custom option values

When an Upsell (Pre-purchase, In-cart, and Post-purchase) offer is created using personalized campaigns (PrintBase and PrintHub) or products (ShopBase), if the customer adds one of the target personalized products into their cart, the custom option values of the recommended personalized products will be prefilled based on the values entered in the target product in the following conditions:

For PrintBase and PrintHub personalized campaigns: The custom options of the recommended campaign that have the same Type and Label with those of the target campaign will be prefilled accordingly.


For ShopBase personalized products: The custom options of the recommended product that have the same Type and Name with those of the target product will be prefilled accordingly.



For example, in this campaign, the customer has selected the background, write the dog's name, and upload a clipart image of their dog.


In the Upsell pre-purchase offer, the custom options of the recommended product that meet the requirements will be prefilled with the corresponding values.


Therefore, to make the most of this Boost Upsell feature, you can create and upsell set of personalized campaigns/products with the same Type and Label/Name custom options.

B. Display live preview images

For personalized campaigns/products, in the list of recommended products from Upsell offers on mobile devices, customers can click on the Preview your design button to preview their product before adding it to their cart. They will be directed to the product page where the instant live preview image of the recommended product will be displayed with prefilled custom option values (if applicable).

Customers can click on the "Preview your design" button to preview the recommended product before adding it to cart. All custom option values will be prefilled (if applicable)
This feature is only available for Pre-purchase and Post-purchase offers.
This live preview button is only available on mobile devices.
This live preview button will only appear if the Personalization Preview mode is enabled.
In the Boost Upsell recommended product list and product page, variants will be automatically selected based on your automatic variant selection set up.
