Place a test order (draft order) on ShopBase

By placing a test order, you can make sure that your checkout process and other settings all function accurately without being charged. To create one, you'll need to enter test credit card payment information at the checkout page. You can simulate different types of transactions, depending on what information you enter.

Step by Step Tutorial

From your ShopBase admin, go to Settings > Payment providers.

If you have any credit card payment provider enabled, you should deactivate it before continuing. Click on the account and select Deactivate.

In Test gateway, toggle the switch to enable test gateway.

Once the test gateway is successfully activated, the Test card information will be displayed in your dashboard. Here, you can copy the Card Number, Expiration date, and CVV/CVC numbers to use later when placing a test order. This information will simulate an Approved transaction.

To place a test order, go to your online store and place an order as a customer would. At checkout, enter the following test credit card details instead of genuine numbers:

You can refer to the Stripe test cards to place the order.

In Card number: Paste the Card Number copied in step 3 (4242424242424242) to simulate an Approved Transaction. To simulate a Declined transaction, enter 4000000000000002.
In Cardholder name: Enter any cardholder name.
In Date: Paste the Expiration date copied in step 3, or enter any date in the future you want.
In CVV: Paste the CVV/CVC copied in step 3, or use any three numbers as the Card Security Code you want.

Any order that has been canceled and refunded is not paid out or subject to transaction fees.
If Test Gateway is activated and your public domain is still an onshopbase.com domain, there will be a warning banner to notify you (and the customers, if any) to connect and set up a primary domain before fully launching the website and running ads on other platforms. After successfully connecting a new public domain (a custom domain that does not include onshopbase.com), this notification would disappear.

While Test Gateway is set up, every order that you create is a test order.
Test orders are not counted in Analytics reports.
