A. Requirements

Your business must meet all of the following conditions:
Operate as a U.S. company with business registration documents, EIN number (tax identification number).
Has a U.S. company address.
Send the owner's passport page with the headshot photo.

B. Create ShopBase Payments by Stripe account

1. Incorporate the U.S. company

If you're not sure about which company you want to set up, you should go with Delaware LLC for the tax-friendly setup and easy company registration.
Go to LawTrades.com
Follow the instruction to set up the company as you wanted. The cost is about $500, depending on your options.
Within 1-2 days, LawTrades will contact you to walk you through the process. You can loop in sales/account person from ShopBase team to support in any step.
The company registration would be ready in a few days, and EIN number will be ready in 10-20 days.
You can use your friend or family member's passport for the registration.

2. Setup stores on ShopBase

When you create a new ShopBase store, please set up the account country to the U.S. If you have set up your store already, make sure that your store's general information (in Settings > General) is set in the US.
Your stores should be set up with all needed products and have at least a few orders with Paypal to make the review process quicker.

3. Sign up for ShopBase Payments by Stripe

All the below steps can only proceed after you have the company EIN number. Please fill in all required blank in English only.
Go to Settings > Payment Providers
If not in the U.S., you should turn on Proxy / US VPS connection.
Click Register for ShopBase Payments account

Fill your info into the signup form.
Select LLC or the corporate entity type of your company
For the last 4 number of SSN, use last 4 numbers in your passport
Click Complete setup account to submit the form.
After 1-3 minutes, refresh Payment Provider page. At Accept credit cards section, the system will list one of the following statuses:
Enabled: your account is approved. You can activate ShopBase Payments to start using now

Rejected: your account is not approved, and ShopBase Payments will note the reasons so you can prepare information to register another account.
Required to verify again: you need to fill in details that Stripe requires to re-verify. Click Complete Setup account and wait for about 1-3 minutes to receive your result

Under review: if you still see this status after 30 minutes, contact ShopBase team so we can check for you.


You can sign up ShopBase payments on each store you have with ShopBase but remember to use the same passport and company info.

4. Setup support channels

To ensure high-quality customer service for buyers, merchants who use ShopBase Payments are required to have a support team with the conditions as below:

A support team/person to answer buyers' emails. You can use Freshdesk, Zendesk or similar services.
A U.S. phone number that has voicemail feature, and some people who can resolve those voicemail calls. You may consider Freshdesk Call, Sonetel, Grasshopper, etc.
