Inventory tracking can help you avoid selling products that have run out of stock. You will need to set up inventory tracking for the product. After tracking is set up, an inventory history is available for 90 days.

A. Set up inventory tracking

Walkthrough:

From your ShopBase admin, go to Products.

Click the name of the product that you want to track.

If the product has variants, then click the variant that you want to track.

In the Inventory section, select ShopBase tracks this product's quantity from the Inventory policy list.



Set the quantity.

Click Save changes.


B. Adjust inventory levels

You can change the inventory count for product variants on the Inventory page.

Walkthrough:

From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Inventory.



Under Update quantity, change the inventory count:

To adjust the count, click Add and enter a number. You can use a negative number to subtract from the inventory.



To set a new total inventory count, click Set and enter a number.



Click Save. The new total is shown under Quantity.




C. View your product inventory

You can view the inventory counts for your product variants on the Inventory page.



You can also view product inventory on the Products page, which shows a combined inventory count for all the variants of each product.




D. Hide out-of-stock products from your collections

Before you can hide out-of-stock products from your collections, you need to enable inventory tracking in your Shopify admin. Inventory tracking automatically keeps track of the inventory level of each product that you carry.

Walkthrough:

Enable inventory tracking for your products.
Change the automated collection conditions for each of your collections, and add the following conditions:

For Products must match, select all conditions.



For Inventory stock, select is greater than and enter 0.



This procedure makes sure that your automated collections don't contain any products that are out of stock, and that those products won't appear to your customers. Any out-of-stock products will appear in your collections again after you receive inventory.
