Edit products in bulk using CSV file on PlusBase

To quickly and effectively update your PlusBase products, you can export them into a CSV file, make any necessary change, then re-import the file into our system. In this article, we will walk you through all required fields in a valid product CSV file and how it works on PlusBase.

From your PlusBase admin, go to Products > All products.


Click Import.


Click Choose file and select the product CSV file from your device.



Please refer to this example CSV file to create your product CSV file according to PlusBase requirements. The following fields are included in the CSV file:

Product ID (required): ID of the product in your store's admin. Please refer to section B for more information on Product ID.
Variant ID (required): ID of the product's variants in your store's admin. Please refer to section B for more information on Variant ID.
Title (required): Product title.
Body (html): Product description written in HTML format.
Type: Product type.
Tags: Product tags.
Published (required): Enter the value TRUE if you want the product to be public on your store and FALSE if you don't.
Option fulfill value: Value combination of product options to be fulfilled when an order is placed. For example, this field will contain a Red-36UK value for item that is Red in color and 36UK in size. When you export the product from PlusBase, this value will be available in the CSV file, and you will not have to manually fill in the data.
Option Name: Name of product option.
Option Value: Value of product option.
Variant Price (required): The selling price of the product/product variant.
Variant Compare At Price: Original price of the product /product variant before discount.
Image Src: Product image link address.

You can update the product images as you wish, however, the number of product images in the CSV file cannot exceed the number of original product images. For example, if your product has 5 images, you can replace or remove any of them, but you cannot add a 6th image to the product.
Image Position: Position/stacking order of the product image.
Alt Image: Alt text you want to insert for the product image.
Gift Card: Whether this product / product variant is applicable for gift card promotion or not.
Variant Image: Variant image link address. In case the product variant has more than one image, put each link on a new line, or separate each image link using a comma , (without space between commas)
Variant Weight Unit: Unit of weight, acceptable values ​​are g, kg, lb and oz.
Cost per Item: The costs associated with the production of the product
Available On Listing Pages (required): Shows whether product/product variant is available in the store or not. Valid values ​​in this field are TRUE (yes), FALSE (no). Please refer to this article to understand how to set up product availability.
Available On Sitemap Files (required): Shows whether this product/variant appear on search engines or not. Valid values ​​in this field are TRUE (yes), FALSE (no). Please refer to this article to learn more about product availability settings.
Seo Title: Product title appears on search engines (It is recommended to have a maximum of 70 characters).
Seo Description: Product description appears on search engines (It is recommended to have a maximum of 320 characters).

In a PlusBase store, you can import a maximum of 3,000 products/day, 500,000 variants/day, 300,000 product images/day, and 500 media files/product. Please refer to this article for more information.
The first line contains the field names in your CSV file, which should be sorted in the same order as in the sample CSV file.
Browsers like Chrome only allow uploading files within 30 seconds. Heavy CSV files can lead to unsuccessful uploads and error message "The connection has timed out. Please try again later." will be displayed. To fix this, you should split the file into multiple ones or connect to a faster network. In addition, your file should not be larger than 10 MB in size.
Click Upload file.


After that, you can preview your file. Click Upload file to finish.


The import progress can be tracked on the store's admin by clicking on the PlusBase icon.

Once the CSV file has been uploaded, a confirmation email will be sent to the email you used to sign in to the store.

When you import a product CSV file to PlusBase, the system will override data of the existing products in your PlusBase store that have the same product ID and variant ID as the products in the CSV file. Therefore, you cannot export products of one PlusBase store and then import them to another. Instead, you can use the product cloning feature to quickly clone products from one PlusBase store to another.

B. Get Product ID and Variant ID



When importing products, you need to enter product ID and variant ID. The system will automatically link the item with that available variant. If you export the products into a CSV file from PlusBase, and use that file to re-import the products into the store, the product ID and variant ID are already available in this file. You can also check the product ID and variant ID in your store admin by following the steps below:

In your PlusBase admin, go to Products > All products and select your product.


In the product detail page, your product ID will be is located at the end of the URL as shown below. Copy that ID and paste it into the CSV file.


To get the variant ID, in the product detail page, navigate to Variants section and click Edit next to the variant you want to get ID of.


In the variant's detail page, your variant's ID will be is located at the end of the URL as shown below. Copy that ID and paste it into the CSV file.
