How to set up post-purchase upsell

Upsell on ShopBase Creator is a combination of upsell and downsell steps that can help increase the value of your order. Each step in the upsell funnel will have its own page, with each page representing a product that you are upselling. After completing their purchase on the target product sales page, your customers will be directed to these upselling pages. They can then accept or reject the offer based on their preferences.

With ShopBase Creator, you can freely configure your upsell and downsell steps, as well as customize the design of each offer page to match your website.

A. Understand the structure of an upsell offer funnel

An upsell funnel contains pairs of upsell and downsell offers. You can add up to 10 upsell/downsell offer pairs for a product on your website.

Each upsell and downsell offer will have its own sales page, also called offer page.

When the offer page is displayed to your customer, they can choose to whether accept or reject it based on their preferences. When a customer accepts an offer, they can purchase the upselling product right away without having to enter the payment information again. Both the target product and the upselling products will be counted in the same order in your ShopBase Creator admin, but different transactions for these products will be processed on the payment provider.

If the customer rejects an upsell offer, they will be navigated to the next corresponding downsell offer page.

If the customer rejects this downsell offer, they will be navigated to the next upsell page in the upsell funnel.

If the customer accepts this downsell offer, they will also be navigated to the next upsell page in the upsell funnel.

If the customer accepts an upsell offer, they will be directed to the next upsell pages in the upsell funnel, where they can accept or reject offers based on their preferences. If there are no upsell offers left, they will be direct to the Thank you page where they can access their purchased product.

The upsell funnel cannot be broken, unless and until the following conditions are met:

The funnel ends when the customer rejects an upsell offer and no downsell offer is set up for the current upsell offer.
The customer reaches the end of the funnel and no more upsell offer is set up for this funnel.
The customer closes the current tab/browser.

Upsell offers will not be displayed if a customer selects a free pricing option during checkout because no payment information is provided to accept the upsell offer.
Upsell offers are not yet available for PayPal payment method.
