Connect PayPal Pro to your store

If you already had a PayPal Pro Account, kindly follow this tutorial to successfully connect it to your ShopBase store.

A. Set up PayPal Pro Business account and Sandbox account



To create a PayPal Pro Business account, go to this link, select I would like to create a new account.



Create a Payflow Pro Gateway account.



Or you can create a Test account (Sandbox) by selecting I do not have a Processor. Set up test account.



B. Get Client ID and Secret Key



You will need to get the PayPal Manager Partner, PayPal Manager Vendor, PayPal Manager User, PayPal Manager Password on your PayPal account for later steps.

From your PayPal Manager account, click Account Administration > Manage Users.


Click Add User if you haven’t had an account. Click on user name to login if you already had an account.


All information you have to fill or copy is here. Save it to use in section C.



C. Activate PayPal Pro as your payment method



From your ShopBase admin site, go to Settings >> Payment Providers.


Click Choose third-party provider in Accept credit cards section


In the Third-party payment providers page, choose PayPal Pro


Enter your merchant info from step B above.

In PayPal Manager Partner, enter your Partner information.
In PayPal Manager Vendor, enter your Merchant Login.
In PayPal Manager User, enter your User Login Name.
In PayPal Manager Password, enter your PayPal Manager Password.



Use Test mode if you just want to test the store.


Click Add account to finish.

Before connecting, you must have a PayPal Pro Gateway account, know your API credentials, know your endpoint and Sandbox account.
You can only connect payment gateways when you have chosen a subscription plan.
To keep your account safe, ShopBase will not send any information related to your store, including your store name, store domain, product name, etc. to payment gateways to help prevent your account from being restricted.

D. Deactivate your PayPal Pro account



After connecting your PayPal Pro account to the store, you can deactivate anytime and still be able to re-activate it later with the same or different credentials.
