Show legal agreement on the checkout page

A Terms of Service agreement is a legally binding agreement between you (the ecommerce store owner) and the people using your service. Essentially, you outline what you intend to offer customers and what you expect in return. Like any other contract, you can enforce Terms of Service agreement and link it to the store's checkout page. Your customers can review the Terms of Service before they consent to the agreement and finalize their order.

In this article, we will show you how to show legal agreement on your store's checkout page.

Step by Step Tutorial

From your ShopBase admin, go to Online Store > Themes. Select the theme you want to edit and choose Customize.

Select Checkout page from the dropdown menu.

Select Legal & payments section.

Enable Show legal agreement on the checkout page.

You can display the legal agreement in two different ways.

Manual confirmation: Your customers must check the box I have read and agree to the Terms of service before placing their order. By clicking the box, customers show they clearly agree to the contractual terms.

Auto confirmation: By clicking the button Place the order, your customers agree to your store's Terms of service.

Once finished, click Save.

This set up is only available for ShopBase stores.
For ShopBase stores, you need to manually set up the Terms of Service page. Please refer to this article for more information.
