A. Issues with data or data feed

The error occurs when your products' information is missing or incorrect. Some common issues include:

For every item in your catalog, you must include a link to a website landing page that people can click on to learn more about the item.

Make sure links begin with http:// or https://.
Make sure that links are correct and aren't broken. Copy and paste them into a new tab in your browser to test them.
If you can, always link to pages that are optimized for mobile.
Don't link to pages where people have to sign in or register to see items.
Use a URL that won't change often.

For example:
Correct URL link: https://shop.domain/abcdef
Incorrect URL link: shop.domain/abcdef

Include images with every item in your feed so that images appear if you run ads from your catalog.

Make sure links begin with http:// or https://.
Make sure that links are correct and aren't broken. Copy and paste them into a new tab in your browser to test them.

For example:
Correct URL link: https://img.shopbasecdn.com/123123
Incorrect URL link: img.shopbasecdn.com/123123

Missing or incorrect prices

You must include prices in your data feed so that people know how much your items cost.

Format prices correctly. Use an ISO currency code instead of currency symbols – for example, 9.99 USD or 24.50 EUR.
Make sure the prices you list are accurate and match the prices on your website.
Don't include shipping or other additional fees in the price.

For example:
Correct format: 9.99 USD
Incorrect format: $9.99, 9.99$, or 9.99

Missing descriptions or descriptions in capital letters

Most catalog types require item descriptions so make sure to include this column in your feed.

Enter relevant and accurate information in the description column.
Don't enter links in the description column. Links should go in the link column of your feed.
Limit descriptions to 5000 characters.
If you enter item descriptions all in capital letters, people may associate your ads with SPAM or misleading marketing.

For example:
Correct format: Easy to adjust and doesn't bother you to wear, super cute. Handmade weave hand or ankle jewelry with sea wave decor, three layers, very stylish and charming. Wearing this as a bracelet or anklet, enhance the natural look every day.
Incorrect format: EASY TO ADJUST AND DOESN'T BOTHER YOU TO WEAR, SUPER CUTE. HANDMADE WEAVE HAND OR ANKLE JEWELRY WITH SEA WAVE DECOR, THREE LAYERS, VERY STYLISH AND CHARMING. WEARING THIS AS A BRACELET OR ANKLET, ENHANCE THE NATURAL LOOK EVERY DAY

Missing names or titles

Most catalog types require a name or title column so make sure to include this column in your feed.

Enter a name or title that's relevant and specific to each item.
When possible, don't enter names in all capital letters. People tend to associate names and titles in all capital letters with spam or misleading marketing.
Limit names and titles to 150 characters.
Proofread names and titles for spelling and grammar.

For example:
Correct format: Beachy Anklets
Incorrect format: BEACHY ANKLETS

Duplicate items

If you try to upload an item to your catalog that already exists in it, your upload may fail.

Remove any duplicate items from your data feed.
After you remove duplicate items, upload your data feed again to update your catalog.

B. Invalid data feed file location

If you host your data feed on another server (such as Dropbox) and receive an error message when you try to upload it, your data feed's URL may not lead to the correct location.

Make sure the URL you enter to upload your feed starts with http:// or https://.
Check that the URL links directly to your feed's location. Open a new tab in your browser and then copy and paste the URL into the tab to test it.

C. Data feed access errors

If you get a HTTP bad request error, it means your HTTP server doesn't get Facebook request. This is because your browser automatically filled in Facebook login information to Save login details (optional). You need to delete this login details before upload your data to Facebook.

If you get an error that says Failed to Connect to FTP Server, Fetching Feed from HTTP Server Failed or Your Data Feed File Couldn't Be Accessed, check to make sure that:

The URL is the correct URL that hosts your feed file. The URL shouldn’t be just a website domain or product page.
The URL is accessible outside Facebook. Open a new browser tab and test your URL to make sure it opens your data feed and doesn’t lead to a broken page, like a 503 or 404 error.

If you receive an error message about malicious links in your data feed, please check the links in your data feed, and contact ShopBase or Facebook support.

E. Data feed uploads slowly or exceeds file size

Sometimes large files can slow down the upload speed of your data feed or stop it from uploading. If your data feed takes too long to upload, please contact our support team with the URL link to your product feed file, store's information, and a screenshot of the error message so we can support you.
